The best things in life aren’t things.
Buchwald, Art

Why do we hold on to things which no longer (or never have) serve a purpose in our lives?  Are we truly afraid that we might night it later?  Or is it because the item defines who we were or hoped to be?

As I purge through my things this month, I want to stop and take a moment to savor the things I have which point to more.  The magazine cut out of a crop of daisies, sent to me by my cousin as a cheerful hello.  The picture of Jay & I on top of Grandfather Mountain.  The cross reminder of my Savior, my God.

I hope to celebrate the best “not things” in my life this month and beyond.  What are you thankful for today?
