This week’s Five Minute Friday prompt is PAUSE, which I found fitting given where I currently am with my writing. My papaw’s illness and hospital stay have taxed my emotions. Despite having stories to tell, my heart just isn’t in it.
Today’s Five Minute Friday prompt is the word “Secret.” What follows only loosely relates. I neither want to dwell on Papaw’s situation, nor over share, so perhaps 5 minutes of free writing is the perfect solution to prevent both.
Like a scene out of a TV sitcom about bad dating experiences, year after year I tried to find a calendar/planner which suited my lifestyle. Some were too shallow – allowing enough space for a few words per day. Others too overwhelming and cumbersome.
I’m writing this on Saturday, but will still tackle the Five Minute Friday prompt. As always, bloggers take a few moments out of their weekend to share their perspective on a a single word.
I love tracking progress in all areas of life. From keeping a list of books I’ve read this year to the joy of crossing a workout off of my training plan, the act of tracking almost makes me feel more accomplished than the item itself.
Today is day 2 of my new training routine. The plan called for 20 minutes of running with fartleks built in. Actually, it called them “speed surges” or some such, but fartlek is so much more fun to say.
This morning I was at the right place at the right time. I got to witness a one friend encouraging another about how best practice self-care. When anxiety is the question, exercise is always the answer.
Continuing with the game plan – ha! I suppose I mean that in the literal, but not traditional manner – Jay and I traveled to Nashville to see a Round 2 game. We’d decided to watch at least one game live per round, assuming we could get tickets, and this round found us at game 2.
My county held local primary vetoing today. From the time I got out of my car to getting back in, casting my ballot took 8 minutes. This includes being chatted up by the gold timer working the polls.
